Which Airlines Fly From Terminal 5

Terminal 5 is O'Hare's dedicated international terminal for carriers that are not aligned with United's Star Alliance (T1) or American's OneWorld (T3). That means a lot of the long-haul flag carriers land here — Emirates, Qatar Airways, Korean Air, China Eastern, Turkish, and a rotating list of seasonal carriers. T5 also handles some charter and overflow international traffic. If you are arriving from overseas and your airline is not United or American, T5 is the likely terminal.

The key difference at T5 is that every passenger clears U.S. Customs and Border Protection on arrival. After the plane lands you collect bags, pass through immigration and customs, and then exit into the international arrivals hall. That is where the chauffeur waits — at the customs exit, not at a domestic-style curb. Passengers with Global Entry clear immigration faster, so if your party is split between Global Entry and standard lines, tell us and we plan the wait accordingly.

Because T5 traffic is almost entirely international, rates start slightly higher than the domestic terminals to cover the longer wait window, but they are still flat by suburb with no peak pricing.

Customs, Immigration, and the Arrivals Hall

Customs and immigration at T5 typically run 30 to 90 minutes depending on the arrival bank — several wide-body flights landing together can stack the lines. The chauffeur tracks your flight plus the customs status and arrives based on the actual exit time, so you are not paying for a driver who showed up an hour early. T5 arrivals get 120 minutes of free wait, double the standard 60, exactly because customs is unpredictable.

When you clear customs and walk out into the international arrivals hall, the driver is standing with a name placard. For VIP, dignitary, or consulate arrivals we can use the S-Class or larger premium tier and arrange a multilingual chauffeur — Spanish, Polish, Russian, Mandarin, or German — with 24 hours' notice. Arriving relatives or a tour group of 7 to 14 fit a Sprinter with room for the extra international luggage.

One note: we pick up only after you clear customs. Pure transit passengers continuing on another international flight without clearing should use the airline's airside transit service, not ground transport.

Who Books T5 Pickups

T5 bookings skew toward three groups: arriving relatives being met by family, international business and VIP travelers stepping off a long-haul flight, and tour or delegation groups landing together. For the family meeting a relative, a sedan or SUV with a name placard takes the guesswork out of finding each other in a crowded arrivals hall. For business and dignitary arrivals, the S-Class or larger premium tier and an optional multilingual chauffeur make the first impression off the plane a clean one.

T5 is the separate international building, reached from the rest of O'Hare by the airport transit system. If a connecting domestic traveler needs to be collected from T1, T2, or T3 at the same time as a T5 international arrival, the chauffeur runs the loop to gather the group rather than dispatching two cars.

From T5 the ride downtown follows I-190 to the Kennedy at a flat O'Hare rate, with suburb pricing scaling from there. The driver watches live traffic so the trip after a tiring international flight is as direct as the roads allow.
