6 Ways to Lower Your Limo Cost

Book airport transfers instead of hourly

Flat-fare airport rides start at $130. Hourly minimums are 2 hours ($274+). If you only need A-to-B, a transfer saves 50%+.

Share a Sprinter for group trips

A Sprinter at $179/hr split among 8 people is $22.38/person per hour. Cheaper than individual Ubers with better service.

Book round-trip for a discount

Round-trip airport transfers save 10% versus two one-way bookings. Ask about round-trip pricing when you call.

Avoid unnecessary hourly minimums

Sedans and SUVs have a 2-hour minimum for hourly charters. If your event is under 2 hours, a point-to-point transfer may cost less.

Use flat rates for predictable routes

Airport transfers, hotel-to-venue, and other fixed routes are flat-fare. You will never pay more than the quoted price.

Book early for weddings and proms

Peak-season vehicles book out 2-3 months ahead. Early booking locks your rate and guarantees availability.

Limo Cost FAQ

How much does a limo cost in Chicago?

Chicago limo costs range from $130 for a sedan airport transfer to $309/hr for a 40-passenger party bus. Most riders pay $130-$165 for sedan or SUV service. All Royal Carriage rates include gratuity and tolls with no peak pricing.

Is a limo cheaper than Uber for airport rides?

During normal hours, Uber may be $10-$20 less. But during peak pricing (rush hour, events, bad weather), a limo is often 40-60% cheaper. A $45 Uber ride can become $150+ during a Bears game. Our $130 flat rate never changes.

What is included in the limo price?

All Royal Carriage rates include driver gratuity (15%), Illinois Tollway charges, flight tracking for airport pickups, meet and greet at the terminal, 30-60 minutes of free wait time, and complimentary water. No hidden fees.

How do I get an exact quote?

Enter your pickup and dropoff addresses on our Moovs booking platform for an instant quote. For events, multi-stop trips, or custom itineraries, call (224) 801-3090 for a personalized quote within minutes.

Do limo prices go up on holidays?

No. Royal Carriage does not charge holiday surcharges. Your rate is locked at booking whether it is a Tuesday morning or New Year's Eve. This is one of the biggest advantages over rideshare services.

How much does it cost to rent a limo for a day in Chicago?

A full-day Chicago limo charter is priced hourly with a minimum — a sedan at $137/hr or a stretch limo at $164/hr over an 8-hour day runs about $1,096–$1,312, with gratuity and tolls included. Party buses for group days start at $309/hr. Call (224) 801-3090 for a flat all-day quote.

How much is a party bus in Chicago?

Chicago party bus rental runs $309/hr for a 20–40 passenger bus with a 3–4 hour minimum, so a typical night out is roughly $927–$1,236. Split across the group it is often cheaper per person than separate rideshares — and there is no surge pricing.

How a Chicago Limo Price Is Actually Built

Every quote starts from one of two models. Knowing which one applies to your trip is the difference between a fair price and an overpay.

Flat-fare trips (A to B)

Point-to-point runs like an airport transfer are priced on the route, not the clock. The number is set by mileage between the two addresses, the typical drive time, and the vehicle class. Because the rate is locked when you book, traffic on the day of the ride does not change it — a 30-minute O'Hare run that turns into 55 minutes in snow still costs the quoted rate.

Hourly charters (multi-stop)

Events, nights out, and multi-stop days are priced per hour with a minimum — 2 hours for sedans and SUVs, 3 for Sprinters and the 20/30-passenger buses, 4 for the 40-passenger coach. You multiply the hourly rate by the booked block. The vehicle stays with you and waits between stops rather than re-dispatching, which is why hourly beats flat-fare the moment you have more than one stop.

The 6 Factors That Change Your Quote

Vehicle class

The biggest lever. A sedan, an Escalade SUV, a 14-passenger Sprinter, and a 40-passenger bus are four different price floors. Match the vehicle to your real headcount plus luggage rather than rounding up.

Distance and duration

Flat rates scale with mileage; hourly charters scale with the block you book. A downtown round trip and a far-suburb round trip on the same vehicle can differ by $40-$80 on distance alone.

Passenger and luggage count

Four people with checked bags need an SUV, not a sedan. Booking too small forces a swap on the day or a second vehicle — both cost more than choosing the right size up front.

Number of stops

One stop favors a flat rate. Two or more favors hourly so the vehicle waits. A bar crawl or wedding day with multiple addresses is always an hourly block.

Wait time

Airport transfers include 30-60 minutes free; beyond that, or a held vehicle during a meeting, is billed at the hourly rate. Building the wait into an hourly booking is usually cheaper than paying overage.

What is NOT a factor

Time of day, day of week, weather, and demand do not move a Royal Carriage price. There is no peak pricing multiplier, no holiday surcharge, and no after-hours fee — the quote you accept is the quote you pay.

Gratuity (15%) and Illinois Tollway charges are already inside every number on this page — they are not add-ons computed at the end.

What Our Customers Say

★★★★★

Royal Carriage tracks my Thursday return flight automatically. When it delays — which happens often — the driver is there when I actually land, not when the original gate said. Two years of weekly O'Hare runs, never once stranded.

Dr. M. Reyes · Hinsdale

★★★★★

I plan corporate galas across Chicago. Royal Carriage is my only transportation vendor. Last month they ran 8 vehicles for a Field Museum event — sedans, SUVs, and a motor coach. On-time, in uniform, name signs for every VIP.
