Southwest Flies From Midway, Not O'Hare
Southwest operates exclusively from Chicago Midway International (MDW) — it does not fly out of O'Hare at all. Midway is Southwest's focus city, and the airline accounts for the vast majority of MDW traffic. So if you are flying Southwest in or out of Chicago, the pickup or drop is always Midway, on the city's Southwest Side about 10 miles from downtown. Travelers who assume O'Hare for a Southwest flight end up 17 miles in the wrong direction, so it is worth confirming the airport on your booking.
