Getting Around Logan Square

Logan Square centers on the Illinois Centennial Monument at the Logan/Kedzie/Milwaukee three-way, with the historic boulevards radiating out toward Palmer Square and the 606 trail. The food-and-drink scene here is the draw: Lula Cafe and Longman & Eagle anchor the dining, and the bar density along Milwaukee and California, The Whistler, Scofflaw, Estereo, Lonesome Rose, makes it a natural multi-stop night. Most charters we run from here are evening circuits where the driver waits at each spot, since street parking around the square turns over slowly and the permit zones bite after 6 p.m.

Logan Square pairs naturally with Avondale, Bucktown, and Wicker Park, all a few minutes down Milwaukee, so the bar-crawl bookings usually thread two or three neighborhoods. A 20-passenger party bus at $250/hr covers a group hitting the square, then Bucktown's Damen strip, then Wicker Park's Division corridor without anyone driving. Weekend brunch is its own pattern, groups going to Lula or Daisies, then over to the Logan Square farmers market in summer, then the 606 for a walk.

For airport timing, the Kennedy is close, the California and Western on-ramps put you on I-90/94 in minutes, so O'Hare runs from Logan Square are quick outside rush hour, from $120 sedan, Midway $120. November through January the decorated boulevards make Logan Square a stop on our holiday-light charters. The trips residents book most: date-night dinner-and-cocktail circuits, group bar crawls across the Milwaukee corridor, and early O'Hare departures that beat the Kennedy backup.
