Inside McCormick Place: Four Buildings, One Campus

McCormick Place sits on the lakefront at 2301 S. King Drive, about two and a half miles south of the Loop. It is four connected buildings, and which one you need changes everything about your pickup. The West Building (Hall F) on Indiana Avenue handles the largest shows and connects to the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place by sky bridge. The South Building (Halls A and B) is the original exhibit space along King Drive. The North Building (Hall C) sits across from it, joined by the Grand Concourse. Lakeside Center (Hall D), the easternmost building on the water, has its own entrance off Lake Shore Drive and is often used for smaller breakout events. Tell our dispatcher the building and hall when you book and your driver stages at the right door — no walking a half mile across the campus with a roller bag and a booth crate.

Hotel-to-McCormick Shuttle Loops

Most attendees stay in the Loop, River North, or along the Magnificent Mile and need to get to the show floor every morning before the keynote. We run scheduled hotel loops for groups staying at properties like the Hilton Chicago, the Palmer House, the Marriott Marquis on the lakefront, and the on-campus Hyatt and Marriott. A single Sprinter van can cycle a group of 14 between a downtown hotel and the West Building entrance on a fixed cadence, or a 56-passenger motor coach can clear an entire delegation in one run. Loops are timed around show open and close so your people are not standing in a taxi line at 8 a.m. or fighting for a rideshare at the end of a long exhibit day.

Exhibitor and Group Transport

Exhibitors have different needs than attendees. Booth staff arrive early for move-in, leave late after teardown, and often shuttle clients off-site for dinners and hospitality events once the floor closes. We handle all of it: morning runs to get your team in before doors open, midday client pickups, and evening transfers to restaurants in the West Loop or the Loop. For trade shows like the National Restaurant Association Show, PACK EXPO, and RSNA, where a company may bring dozens of people across multiple days, we assign a single coordinator and a consistent set of chauffeurs so the same drivers know your schedule by day two.

Airport-to-McCormick Direct Runs

If your hotel check-in is after the show opens, skip the detour. We run direct sedans and SUVs from O'Hare and Midway straight to the McCormick Place entrance. O'Hare to McCormick is roughly 18 to 22 miles at a flat $130 sedan rate; Midway is shorter at $130. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, meets you at baggage claim, and can coordinate with the building's luggage and materials handling so booth crates or sample cases move with you. Return runs to the airport after teardown are scheduled the same way, with the pickup timed to your departure rather than a guess.

Parking, Loading Docks, and Staging

McCormick Place limits where private vehicles can stop, and the designated areas change depending on the show and the building. Our chauffeurs use the approved limousine staging zones rather than circling public garages, which keeps your pickup fast and avoids parking fees getting passed on to you. For move-in and teardown, when the loading docks are busy and traffic backs up on King Drive, the driver pre-runs the route and confirms the staging point the night before so there is no confusion at curbside.
