St. Patrick's Day Limo & Party Bus

Dyeing the Chicago River green is the city's signature St. Patrick's Day tradition, running since 1962. On the Saturday closest to the holiday, the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130 boats out onto the main branch of the river around 9:00 am and release a powdered dye that turns the water a vivid green for hours. The best viewing is along the Riverwalk and from the bridges between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive, with Upper Wacker Drive giving a clear look down at the water.

Crowds for the dyeing build before sunrise, and the streets right around the river — Wacker, Columbus, and the bridges themselves — see rolling closures and dense foot traffic. We drop your group near the Wacker and Michigan area before the boats launch so you get a riverwalk spot, then your chauffeur stages nearby instead of you trying to re-park or summon a ride in a crowd that fills the entire river corridor. From there, the rest of the day flows directly into the parade and the bars.

St. Patrick's Day is the single busiest day of the year for our party buses, and for good reason — once the parade ends, the city becomes one long bar crawl.
