Fly in for a day game and you don't want to be wrestling luggage onto the Red Line. The route runs the Kennedy (I-90/94) inbound and exits toward the North Side near Addison or Belmont, 14 miles, 25 to 40 minutes, and game-day traffic on Addison and Clark adds time as you get close. Wrigleyville is the catch: on game days the streets right around the ballpark (Clark, Addison, Sheffield, Waveland) get barricaded and packed, so we drop you a block or two out at a clean corner rather than crawling into a closed street. The Red Line stops right at Addison, which sounds perfect until you picture it on game day: you'd still ride the Blue Line into the Loop first, transfer downtown, then pack onto a Red Line car shoulder to shoulder with every other fan, with your suitcase. The post-game crush at the Addison platform is its own ordeal.
