Navy Pier puts on Chicago's largest Independence Day fireworks, and the crowd that gathers along the lakefront to watch is enormous. Streets around Streeterville and the pier close to traffic, parking garages fill long before dusk, and the festivals running downtown over the holiday weekend add their own closures on top of it.
