Why You Book by Thanksgiving

For Chicago NYE limo bookings, lock the date by Thanksgiving. By December 1, the high-demand vehicles (stretch SUVs, larger party buses, the Mercedes Sprinters) are gone. By December 15, almost all Saturday-Friday-and-Sunday combinations are gone too — December 31 only opens up if someone cancels.

NYE route clusters: (1) River North dinner + Loop rooftop + back to River North, (2) West Loop dinner + Wicker Park late-night, (3) Mag Mile dinner + Streeterville rooftop + South Loop after-hours. Each runs 5-6 hours; midnight is at the rooftop or the after-hours spot.

The Chicago party bus and fleet drivers know the NYE traffic moves — Lake Shore Drive northbound at 11 PM is the worst stretch in the city. We avoid it.

Avoiding Cancellation Traps

NYE cancellation rules are strict: full deposit forfeit at any cancellation inside 14 days of December 31. Re-scheduling to another date is not standard — most operators treat NYE as a single-date booking. Book the date you’ll actually use; don’t book NYE as an option.

How far in advance should I book a night out?

For Saturdays in May, June, September and October — book 60-90 days out. For Friday corporate runs — 1-2 weeks is usually fine. For airport runs — 24-48 hours is the practical minimum during peak season.

Is the price flat or hourly?

Airport runs are almost always flat rate. Event work (weddings, proms, nights out) is hourly with a 3-hour minimum on weekend evenings.

What’s included in the price?

Base rate + standard tolls. Gratuity (15-20%) is typically added separately, as is event parking. Bottled water is standard in every Royal Carriage vehicle.

What if my plans change?

Free cancellation 24 hours out for most events. Inside 24 hours on a wedding or event date typically forfeits the deposit. Airport runs are more flexible.
