Bachelor Party Bus Chicago: Plan the Perfect Night

By Royal Carriage Limousine6 min read

Chicago is one of the best bachelor party cities in the country — the nightlife, the sports, the food, and the fact that you can pack 20 guys on a party bus and hit it all in one night. We have driven bachelor parties across every neighborhood in this city, and here is how to plan one that people actually talk about afterward.

Itinerary Ideas That Actually Work

The biggest mistake bachelor party planners make is trying to do too much. Pick a theme, build the route around it, and let the bus handle the rest.

The Classic Bar Crawl

The most popular bachelor party format. Here is a route that works:

  1. Start at 7 PM — Dinner in River North. RPM Italian, Bavette's, or Chicago Cut. Get real food in everyone before the night starts.
  2. 9 PM — Wrigleyville warm-up. Sluggers (batting cages + bar), then Old Crow Smokehouse or Roadhouse 66. The Wrigleyville strip is loud, packed, and built for bachelor parties.
  3. 11 PM — Rush Street / Gold Coast. Bounce between Celeste, Elia, or Studio Paris. This is the late-night move. Your party bus parks on State Street and you walk between spots.
  4. 1 AM — Late-night food. Portillo's on Ontario or Al's Beef on Taylor Street. The bus takes you there while everyone argues about where to eat.
  5. 2 AM — Drop-off. Back to the hotel or Airbnb. Everyone gets home safe. Nobody is trying to split an Uber at bar close.

The Sports Package

If the groom is a sports guy, build the whole night around a game:

  • Cubs game at Wrigley — Party bus to the park, tailgate on the bus, watch the game, then Wrigleyville bar crawl after. This is a 6-7 hour play that starts at 4 PM for a night game.
  • Bulls or Blackhawks at the United Center — Pre-game at the bus in the lot, watch the game, then head to West Loop bars (Federales, Moneygun, Lone Wolf).
  • Bears game at Soldier Field — Lakefront tailgate is iconic. Party bus parks in the south lot, you grill and drink for 3 hours, watch the game, then take the bus to the South Loop or River North.

The Casino Run

Rivers Casino in Des Plaines is 30 minutes from downtown. Horseshoe Hammond is 40 minutes south. Both are popular bachelor party moves.

The play: dinner downtown, party bus to Rivers or Horseshoe, 3-4 hours of gambling, then back to the city for late-night bars. Total trip time is about 7 hours. The bus gives you a place to pregame on the way and decompress on the way back.

The Full Day

If the group is in from out of town and you have a full Saturday:

  • 12 PM: Pickup. Start with a brewery tour — 3 stops over 3 hours.
  • 4 PM: Back to the hotel to clean up.
  • 7 PM: Pickup for dinner and the evening route.
  • 2 AM: Drop-off.

This is a big play — 8+ hours of bus time. But for a group that flew in for the weekend, it is worth it.

Party Bus Features for Bachelor Parties

Our bachelor party buses come equipped for the occasion:

  • Sound system with Bluetooth — the best man controls the playlist
  • LED and laser lighting — sets the mood without feeling like a school bus
  • Wet bar with cooler space — bring your own bottles (BYOB), we provide ice and cups
  • Wrap-around leather seating — 15-40 depending on bus size
  • Privacy partition — the driver does not need to hear the speeches
  • Dance pole — optional but it is there

Illinois allows BYOB on chartered party buses. Stock the cooler before pickup or have it delivered to the pickup location. We do not sell alcohol, but we have no restrictions on what you bring aboard.

Pricing Overview

Party bus pricing depends on three things: vehicle size, hours booked, and day of the week.

  • Friday or Saturday night (5 hours): $800-1,500 for a 15-passenger bus, $1,200-2,200 for a 25-passenger, $1,800-3,000 for a 40-passenger
  • Weeknight (5 hours): 15-20% less than weekend rates
  • Sunday daytime brewery tour (4 hours): $600-1,000 for a 15-passenger

Split among the group, that is $50-100 per person for the entire night of transportation. Compare that to splitting 8 Ubers across 5 stops with surge pricing and it is a wash — except with the bus you are all together, nobody gets lost, and nobody gets left behind at the second bar.

All Royal Carriage party bus pricing is flat-rate. The price we quote is the price you pay. No surge, no mileage, no fuel surcharges.

Booking Tips

Book early. Friday and Saturday nights in summer book out 3-4 weeks in advance. If your bachelor party is during Cubs season or a holiday weekend, book 6 weeks out.

Get a headcount before you call. We need to know party size to recommend the right bus. Fifteen guys in a 40-passenger bus feels empty. Twenty guys in a 15-passenger bus is uncomfortable.

Designate one point of contact. Our driver communicates with one person — usually the best man. Do not have 15 guys texting the driver different instructions.

Build in buffer time. If you have a dinner reservation at 8 PM, book the bus from 7 PM. Walking 20 guys from the bus to the restaurant takes longer than you think.

Tell us the plan. When you book, share your rough itinerary. Our dispatch team will flag any parking issues, suggest better routes, and time the stops so you are not sitting in traffic on the Kennedy during rush hour.
